Fear Not

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 41:10

When we face challenges in our lives, a lot of us believe that we face them alone, that we don’t have anyone watching our backs.  By thinking this way, we tend to let the spirit of fear overwhelm us.  As a result, we either avoid these challenges or we let them get the best of us.

We cannot let this happen, because God did not give us the spirit of fear.  2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  I want to focus on the spirit of power.  That means he gave us the spirit of power to fight the coronavirus, not fear it.  He gave us the power to overcome any loses we may have suffered in the stock market, not fear it.  That means he gave us the power to overcome any obstacle we may face, not fear it.

Why do I say this?  Because God said, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you…I will strengthen you and help you.”  We can not let the bad reports we hear in the news stop us from living our lives.  We cannot fall into Satan’s trap by thinking something bad is going to happen to us every time we walk out of our homes.  We need to continue living our lives without fear.  We need to continue going out and making a difference in our communities.  Like it says in Psalms 34:19, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”  That means whatever obstacles you may face in life, know that the Lord has got your back.
