The last excerpt of my latest novel “Pleasurable Consequences,” available now on Kindle Unlimited.
A week later, around ten o’clock in the morning, Alex went to the Buckingham Insurance Company building in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He thought he was paying entirely too much for the auto insurance policy he has on his 2004 Lexus ES 330. Morgan’s Insurance, his current insurance company, was charging him two hundred dollars a month for full coverage. He was told by someone at his job that Buckingham could give him a lower monthly rate.
He went through the front door of the two-story brick building and asked the front desk clerk if he could talk to someone about their insurance rates. The clerk, Lisa Gaines, picked up the phone and called the agent in the corner office. Seconds later, the agent stood in the doorway of his office and waved for Alex to come to him. Alex seductively smiled at Lisa before walking into the agent’s office.
Fifteen minutes later, Alex walked out of the office and went back to the front desk to see Lisa. “He said that he sent some papers to your printer for me to look at.”
The printer behind Lisa came on and seconds later, it started printing out Alex’s paperwork. “It should be done in just a second, sir.” she said. She smiled hard at him while rubbing her hand through her shoulder length blond hair.
She then stood up from her desk to retrieve the paperwork that was coming out of the printer. She had her back turned to him. As she was waiting, he looked her body up and down. She was wearing a beautiful blue turquoise dress that ended slightly above her knees. She was tall, about five foot, eight inches in height. She was curvy, but had an athletic, toned look to her. She must work out was the thought that came across Alex’s mind.
She got the papers out of the printer and said, “Here you go, Mr. Emerson.” She stared into his eyes and in a low and seductive voice said, “I really hope you sign with us. You won’t regret it.”
He stared back into her piercing blue eyes, slightly stunned by the way Lisa was projecting herself to him. He looked around and whispered, “If I didn’t know any better, I would swear that you were flirting with me.” He paused, looked at her name tag, and said, “Lisa.”
“Maybe I am.” He noticed her southern drawl and loved the way it sounds.
He saw her left ring finger and said, “You’re married, but if you want to talk to me, I wouldn’t have a problem with that.” He thought to himself that she was one of the best-looking women that he has flirted with. He knew this was wrong, but in his mind, he had to take advantage of the opportunity to seduce her.
“I see that you’re married too. But what our spouses don’t know won’t hurt them,” she replied.
“You’re just saying that to sell car insurance. I tell you what, here is my phone number. Give me a call whenever you get the time. My wife doesn’t know about this phone.”
“Aww, you slick dog you. When will be a good time to call you, Mr. Emerson?” she asked as she placed her hands on her hips.
“Call me any time after eight thirty. I’ll be looking forward to it.”
“Alright, suga. Talk to you later,” she said as she smiled and waved goodbye to him.
He smiled back, then walked out the door. He got in his car and thought to himself man, I can’t believe this! I can’t wait to get my hands on that!”
