In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” That is why I end my prayers with “in Jesus name,” because I know that the Son will relay my requests to the Father, which is the one true God.
Some people believe their prayers will be answered if they pray directly to God. In the New Testament of the Bible, however, it repeatedly states that you have to submit your prayers through Christ so he can send them to his Father “which art in heaven.” The son Jesus Christ intercedes and mediates on our behalf.
In 1 Timothy 2:5-6, it says, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” His sacrifice for us as Christians gives us the ability to ask for spiritual blessings from the Father through Jesus by the Holy Spirit. Jesus summed this up in John 14:14 by simply saying, “If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.”
I believe that God will answer our prayers if they are reasonable, sinless, and if we do our part in fulfilling them. I know that if we do the right things, he will bless us in all our endeavors. I believe this because he has blessed me, and because the Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
